    Running Performance Assessment

In a running performance assessment information will be gathered regarding your endurance and strength training programming, fueling, injury history, and current goals. Objective testing such as strength, range of motion, and functional tasks will be performed to determine areas for improvement. A running gait analysis will be performed and reviewed. Finally, a strength training program will be formulated for you, based on your needs and athletic goals. Training, fueling, and recovery recommendations will be outlined based on your life and it's unique demands. The goal with this assessment is to help set you up for success in your athletic season, avoid injury and burn-out, and optimize your health while also maximizing your performance.

    Strength Training for Runners

Strength training sessions for runners will focus on one-on-one or small group strength training with the emphasis on improving strength, load capacity, and bone health. The goal with these sessions is to complement your endurance training, build durability and resilience, so your body can tolerate consistent training throughout the season. This programming will be based on your athletic goals and take into account your race schedule. Must have running performance assessment performed prior to strength training sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No! Michigan has direct access, which means we can initiate care and treat you for 21 days without a referral from your doctor.

  • I am out-of-network with all health insurers, and I am not enrolled as a medicare provider. I do accept HSA, FSA, and all major credits cards and am happy to provide you with a superbill (itemized document) that has the necessary information so you can submit to your insurance company. This model allows me to spend more time with you, one-on-one, and work together to meet your goals, without possible insurance constraints.

  • That is completely dependent on your personal story. I generally see athletes for fewer visits than when treated under commercial insurance plans. This is because our sessions are very focused on education and management of your own condition. I give you a detailed program that you will perform at home between sessions. For the majority of overuse injuries we see in endurance athletes, I don’t need to see you multiple times per week that you may have been prescribed in PT previously.
